Animals

At Bones Hands, we take a holistic approach to our massages: our goal is not just relaxation, but also health support, prevention, and well-being for dogs and cats. Below, you'll find out the benefits of our massages and the effects we aim to achieve for your pet.

1. Relaxation & stress reduction

  • Our massages have a calming effect: gentle touch relieves muscle tension and soothes the nervous system. Studies and professional articles show that cat massages can relieve stress, nervousness, and tension.
  • Massage also helps dogs reduce everyday stress, especially in urban environments or for athletically active animals.
  • The massage strengthens the bond between animal and therapist (or owner) – this promotes trust and security.

2. Promotes blood circulation and lymph flow

  • Through targeted grip and pressure techniques, we stimulate blood circulation and lymph flow. This supports the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the tissue and promotes the removal of metabolic waste.
  • Adhesions in the connective tissue (fascia) can also be released, which improves mobility.

3. Muscle relaxation, pain relief & mobility

  • Muscle tension and blockages are relieved through targeted massage, allowing the animal to move more freely again.
  • In cases of degenerative joint processes, arthrosis or slightly restricted mobility, a gentle massage can be supportive and help relieve pain (provided there is no acute inflammation).
  • The mobility of the joints is promoted so that the animal remains more flexible.
  • A massage is also beneficial for regeneration after exercise, sport or longer periods of exertion.

4. Prevention & Health Promotion

  • Regular massages can help identify and counteract muscular imbalances early on, thus preventing future problems.
  • They support the immune system: by reducing stress and stimulating metabolic processes, the animal can regain its balance.
  • For older animals or those with physical limitations, massage can help maintain mobility and well-being for longer.

5. Early detection & perception

  • During the massage, we have the opportunity to feel for signs of injury, swelling, pressure points, or changes – often before they are visible to the owner.
  • In addition, the animal becomes more sensitive to its body, improves its body awareness and can thus recognize more subtle signals.

Important information & limits

  • Our massages are not a substitute for veterinary treatment . Massages are contraindicated in cases of acute illness, fever, inflammation, recent injuries, tumors, or heart disease.
  • Before use, a health check should be carried out by a veterinarian to ensure that there is no cause that requires treatment.
  • The massage should always be sensitive, tailored, and performed in a calm environment. We carefully monitor the animal's reactions (pleasure, restlessness, turning away, etc.).
  • After the massage, the animal needs rest. Strenuous activities should be avoided immediately afterward.
