Hot stone massage – warmth that gets under the skin

In a hot stone massage, smooth, polished basalt stones are heated to approximately 55°C in a water bath and then placed along specific energy pathways (meridians) and on muscle areas, or moved in flowing strokes over the oiled body. The stored deep heat penetrates the muscles and combines with rhythmic massage techniques.
